Lois Mannina

Lois Ceceilia Savarese Mannina, age 96 of Jefferson, Louisiana passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday October 1, 2023. She was born in New Orleans on June 30, 1927 and was the daughter to the late Thelma Famularo Savarese Payne and Albert G. Savarese. She resided in Jefferson Parish for over 70 years. As a young woman, Lois worked for A & P in the bookkeeping department. On February 28, 1948 she married the love of her life, Michael Anthony Mannina.

She is survived by her brother-in-law Charles A. Mannina (Diana); half- brother Ronald J. Payne(Mary Lou); half-sister Mary Lynn S Phillips (Allen); nieces and nephews Deborah M. Verlander (Timothy), Donna M. Young (John), Eric P. Payne; great nieces and nephews Sarah Grace Young, Katherine Elizabeth Verlander, Timothy Parker Verlander, Dante Payne and first cousin Patricia Tedford Boehm. In addition, she is survived by numerous relatives and friends; especially Kathleen Grabert (Richard), Phyllis Berry (James) and Cindy Frank.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Michael Anthony Mannina; her parents, Thelma Famularo Savarese Payne and Albert G. Savarese; her step-father, Henry C. Payne and half-sister Alana S. Addotto (Freddie).

Lois was a graduate of Redemptorist High School. She loved painting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, traveling and dancing to live music at The Max in Metairie. She had many friends and lived life to the fullest. All will miss her infectious smile, spunkiness and love of people.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1:00. Visitation will be from 12:00- 1:00. A private interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
