

Born in New Orleans, Lou served the United States in the Marine Corps and attending Tulane University. He always enjoyed a good laugh, a great ball game, and golf with his sons. He was a fantastic dancer with his wife and loving partner of over 73 years. Boating, camping, and fishing were outings Lou shared with his family regularly. He also enjoyed bowling on this traveling team with Eastern Airlines. His love of aviation lead him to Eastern Airlines for his entire career as an Aircraft Mechanic. He prayed every day for each member of his family until his last day. He could still recite his prayers in Latin, learned as a young boy.
Lou is survived by spouse Nancy B. Cuevas; daughter Sandra B. Valentour (Rick); sons Louis T. Cuevas (Donna), Robert A. Cuevas (Leslie), and Gary M. Cuevas (Karen); grandchildren Cory Valentour and Brandi (Sandra), Melissa Cuevas, Julie Cuevas Myrick and Chase (Louis), Sean Cuevas and Clint (Louis), R. Benjamin Cuevas (Robert), Caleb Cuevas and MaryBeth (Robert), and Lindsey Cuevas (Gary); great-grandchildren Camella Fauntleroy (Kristen), Rennan, Vivian, Jack Valentour (Cory), Gavin, Lyla, Cole, Kinsley Myrick (Julie), and Lou and Goldie Cuevas (Caleb). He was preceded in death by parents Frank Cuevas and Josephine F. Cuevas; brothers Wilson Cuevas, Milton Cuevas, and August Cuevas; and granddaughter Kristen B. (Valentour) Fauntleroy.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nursing team of 3rd Floor Surgery Medicine St. Tammany Hospital and St. Tammany Hospital Hospice.
A graveside service for Lou will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124.
