Lucile was also preceded in death by her husband Donald Lucius King and her daughter, Anne Scott King.
She is survived by her children, Catherine King Peloquin, Donald Lucius King, Jr., Charles Edward King and William Niels King; grandchildren, Stephanie Marks Peloquin, Matthew Charles Peloquin, Wells Scott King, Bess Kennedy King, Anne Lindsey King, Scott Charles King, Christian Monsted King, William Anderson King, Samantha Scott King and Michael Lucius King. She is also survived by her brothers, Charles Niels Monsted, III and Thomas Scott Monsted.
Lucile graduated from the McGehee School in 1952 and then Rosemont College in 1955 with an abundance of life-long friends. Originally, a teacher she excelled at raising her children and volunteering at countless causes including St. Vincent DePaul, the Junior League, Hospice of New Orleans, Tulane Medical Center, and Holy Name of Jesus Church. She was a Eucharistic minister for decades and loved participating in retreats at the Cenacle.
Lucile instantly made friends, never made an enemy and was selfless in her love of others. She enjoyed trips with her dear friends to Maine, the Grand Canyon, and the Holy Land.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6367 St. Charles Ave. New Orleans, on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 1 pm with family visitation beginning at 11:30 am. and public visitation beginning at Noon.
Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and/or The American Diabetes Association.
