On Tuesday, November 30th, 2016, Lucille Charbonnet Hixon, 74, of New Orleans passed away peacefully. A devoted mother and grandmother, Lucille “Lulu” touched everyone with her larger than life personality and her zest for living. Very important to Lucille was her involvement in the Children of Mary Sodality at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, her time as a Eucharistic Minister both at Holy Name of Jesus Church and at Mater Dolorosa Church and her work with the children of St. George’s Episcopal School. Survivors include her three loving children and their spouses: Louis Roy Koerner III (Cynthia Carriere Koerner), Suzanne Koerner Terrillion (Albert Jack Terrillion) and Lizette Koerner Smith (Allen Lewis Smith, III); grandsons: Jackson Doyle Koerner, Mark Louis Terrillion, and Charles “Chase” Hayden Koerner and granddaughters: Margaret “Maggie” Doyle Malone and Lizette Anne Terrillion. Lucille is also survived by her two sisters, Judy Hixon Dwyer and Odette Hixon Collett and by her many nieces, nephews and cousins, each of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille Charbonnet Hixon and William Hayden Hixon and many wonderful aunts, uncles and grandparents. The life of Lucille will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 7 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (10 a.m. Visitation and 11 a.m. Mass) with Fr. Francis Ferrié as the celebrant. Interment will follow the services at St. Louis Cemetery 3. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lucille’s name to the Academy of the Sacred Heart or Masses at a church of your choice.
