

Diego was a simple, humble man who loved quality time with his family, friends, and loved ones. He was known for being the life of the party and enjoyed singing karaoke. He was a homebody who loved watching soccer of his favorite Costa Rica team Saprissa and was a fan of the New Orleans Saints. He was an honest mechanic of over 50 years whose knowledge helped others. His pride and joy was his wife, children, and four grandchildren whom he adored. Diego will always be remembered for his zest of life, the way he made others feel special, and his contagious personality.
He is survived by his spouse Janet M. Picado; mother Anita Picado; daughter Veronica Picado; son Joshua Picado; sister Maria del Rocio Picado; brothers Jorge “Koki” Picado (Ana) and Luis Guillermo Picado; grandchildren Luis-Daniel “Tito”, Tatiana, Amari, and Carlos.
Diego is preceded in death by his father Carlos Picado Zuniga; mother-in-law Claudina Gonzalez and brother Carlos Eduardo Picado.
The family would like to give special thanks to the medical oncologist and team at LCMC, East Jefferson Medical Hospital, and Heart of Hospice for their time, care, and dedication.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, September 20, 2024 beginning at 12:30pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Interment to follow in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
