He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Alverta Chaisson Adams, who passed away in 2014; his son, Mark Adams; and his parents, Bernice and Whitney Adams.
Bud is survived by his son, Brian “Buddy” Adams; daughter, Karen C. Cassou; lifelong friend, Francis “Frank” Bucher; and multiple nieces, great nieces, great nephews, and other friends.
Bud spent 34 years proudly serving his country as a member of the Naval Armed Guard during World War II and as an Army Command Sargent Major. He began his career as a barber in 1946 and worked at his shop on Oak Street until September 10, 2021. He loved to take photos, garden, and go to casinos. He devoted his free time to doing speeches at the World War II museum where he was a constant presence.
He was a lifetime parishioner of Mater Dolorosa, the church he was baptized in.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11 AM. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. A graveside service will follow in Lake Lawn Park.
