RIP sweet lady Judith Farrell Blankenship class 66

Dear family of Marianna,
No, I was not a student, or a neighbor. I met this beloved woman in 1983 as she was our support group leader through NAMI. A huge advocate for those suffering with mental illness and their families, Marianna stayed close to members of our group for years after our group gradually disbanded. She cared about everyone in our group and would check on someone if she hadn't heard from them in a while and had reason to be concerned. She was our angel. 
May we all strive to be more like her.
I will miss my dear friend.

Tootie was my teacher and then my coworker when I returned to teach at DHS.  I am proud to say that those years of teaching together led to a lasting friendship.  The memories and laughs we shared I will treasure forever.  She was like no other and there will never be another like her.  I will miss her but her spirit and legacy live on.

Ms.Bertucci was a wonderful teacher and taught me how to go the extra mile, when you felt like you couldn't go anymore.
Thanks for giving all of us at DHS  character building qualities.

Ms. Bertucci was such a fun and loving PE Teacher.  I had many a great memories Of the times we laughed with her , ms voyt, and mrs. Gaudier in our classes at DHS.
Thanks for teaching us to go the extra mile even though we didn't think we had it in us to do so.  That is a trait that has served me well all these years!

You will be missed!

Tootie was such a part of my life during my years here at Dominican.  She was a beautiful person who was great fun and kind hearted.

Such a wonderful lady and awesome teacher! May she Rest In Peace. Class of 1975.

To Tootie's family--I worked with Tootie at Dominican for more than 25 years.  She was such a caring and positive influence at DHS. I enjoyed the time we shared.

Psalms 29:11-God will give strength to His people."  To all mourning the loss of Ms. Tootie, please know that God knows your pain.  He will give you the comfort and strength during this difficult time.  Thoughts are with you.  (Psalms 29:11)

What fond memories I have of Miss Bertucci during Physical Education class at DHS.She introduced us to archery and tennis!We had so much fun!!

So sorry for the family. Ms. Bertucci was one of a kind.

My sympathies to the Bertucci family for the loss of dear Miss Bertucci. At Dominican I was fortunate to have her as a teacher and student council moderator. We all used to love the way she called everyone " baby." In later years it was such a joy to spend time with her when she would invite me to speak to her classes on women's health. 
She was such a devoted teacher and coach and will long be fondly remembered in the hearts of DHS alumnae. God bless you Miss Tootie, and God comfort the family.

Ms. Bertucci was one of the reasons I loved Dominican. She was so sweet and funny. 

I had her for homeroom senior year. We were 4Cs Horsies. For our class yearbook picture, some of us decided to pose as horses and riders up front. I suggested to Ms. Bertucci she hop on my back, but she thought I--at 5'8" and 170 lbs.--should be the rider to HER horse! Thankfully, I convinced her to do it my way.

Rest in peace, dear Ms. Bertucci.

For the friends and family of Ms Bertucci, I am so very sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort hear your heartbroken prayers and support you during these difficult times.

Thank you "Tootie" for being a friends for so very many years. We shared our growing years between your house on Camp and my house on Magazine.  For four years we rode the Magazine Streetcar together early in the morning transferring to the Nashville Bus to get to Ursuline Academy (Our Beloved Alma Mater) for classes. We shared that our Grandparents and Parents came from the same Italian heritage  (Isle di Ustica, Italy). We enjoyed Feast Day Masses, dinners, and picnics with the San Bartholomeo Society here in New Orleans. You will always be remembered lovingly. Dear Bertucci family, my sister and I so enjoyed Miss Bertucci while we were at Dominican. We also always laugh about one time that we were vacationing at Murmuring Surf in Destin in the'80s and I heard someone calling my name across the water.  I wondered who in the world would know me there when Tootie came swimming up to me!  Apparently we picked the week to visit while you all were there for your annual vacation and John Terry told her we were there too.  A great time was had by all!  She was always so much fun and she lives on in our hearts and minds. RIP sweet Tootie!

Thank you for all the days in high school that you let me avoid my assignments and took care of my "stomach aches" with sprite and crackers and a cot. Some of my fondest high school memories involve you in Room 107. You were an angel on earth, one of the kindest and gentlest people I've ever met, and I loved you dearly.

So sorry to hear of Ms. Bertucci's passing. She was my PE and senior year home room teacher at Dominican. Her love for her students and Dominican High School was evident to all around her. Rest in peace, Ms. Bertucci. A Toast of Praise to you for a job well done!

Prayers to Miss Bertucci's family.  Thanks for allowing our Dominican family to have a piece of her for so many years.  We will always love Miss Bertucci and never forget her.  She gave her heart to all of us passing through.

My memories of Ms. Bertucci go back to 1960 on St. Charles Avenue when I entered DHS as a Freshman. She and her side-kick Ms. Vogt were so much fun. Thankfully, two of my daughters, Lynn and Jill, as well as granddaughters Breah and Bailyn got to know Ms. Bertucci from their days at DHS. Most recently, I enjoyed seeing Tootie at Chateau de Notre Dame (my parents were there). She was so happy when she learned a new resident was a DHS girl (she told me 8 were at CdND). A favorite memory is of the day one elevator was not running and she was in the lobby directing people to line up to wait their turn!!! She was a treasure for sure.

To Tootie's Family...I taught with Tootie briefly some years ago, but was mesmerized by her spirit and fun. She was a favorite of students and teachers alike, and was loved by all. She is making heaven an even happier place.

Wow, Mrs. Gaudet and now Ms. Bertucci.  Heaven called our DHS angels in tandem this month.  Prayers!!
