Marilyn Allard passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 age 93. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edmond Allard, her parents Mamie Burch Pfister and William Edwin Pfister, and her brothers, Wallace Pfister and Jack Pfister. She is survived by her brother, Roy Pfister of Covington, and her sister, Maureen Pfister, of Metairie, as well as nine nieces and nephews from Mandeville and various parts of Texas. Everybody called her “Toosie”; what a joy she was, sweet Toosie, always pleasant and upbeat, sometimes gregarious, with an infectious laugh that warmed everyone around her. Her friends felt close to her because she was so endearing to them. Toosie graduated from St. Stephen’s High School in New Orleans, and then took a commercial position with Fairbanks Morse Company at Lee Circle. Afterward, if you could believe, she enrolled in a convent – Sister Toosie! She enjoyed it but left after one year because God determined that she talked too much. She then married Joe Allard from New Bedford, Massachusetts and they were very happy together for 46 years until his death in 1998. Now she is one of the angels. May God bless this glorious and loving person! Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at ST. STEPHEN’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1025 Napoleon Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115 on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Masses or donations to Notre Dame Hospice are preferred.
