

Marion M. Thompson died early Saturday, January 21, 2017. Marion was born August 15, 1924 in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past seventy years. She is survived by eight daughters: Dianne (Del) LeBlanc, Janet (David) Ricketts, Beth (Bobby) Surcouf, Jean (Chris) Cedor, Lynn (Gerry) Preau, Claudia Thompson, Carolyn (Alan) Lafourcade, Alabama, Ellen Lura, Georgia; and one son, N Mark (Cindy) Thompson, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman A Thompson; parents James E Muldrey and Aimee Zatarain Muldrey; brother, James E Muldrey; sisters, Sr Mary Hermenia Muldrey and Margaret Muldrey Gaudry; daughter, Phyllis Bautsch and grandson, Craig M Lura. She is survived by 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She will be lovingly missed by all. Marion enjoyed swimming, teaching swimming and participated in several Senior Olympics, winning numerous medals. She enjoyed activities with the People Program, especially ceramics, for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier parish for 70 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 444 Metairie Rd, Metairie, La. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00. Interment will follow the Mass at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Mass remembrances are appreciated.
