

She was born on March 5th 1936, and was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Dennis Quentin Stumpf the love of her life for 42 years. The daughter of the late Francis Xavier Birrcher and Marie Althea Tanguis Birrcher and her siblings, Mary Ann Beverly Birrcher Kuntz, Francis Xavier Birrcher, Jr., Phyllis May Birrcher (Sister Mary Jane D’Aza, OP), Constance “Connie” Theresa Birrcher Bel. She is survived by her loving and devoted sister Anne “Annie” Marie Birrcher Hogan, and numerous brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary Lynne and Dennis made their home in Venice, La. working at the family grocery store. ‘Stumpf IGA’, where she was the office manager until Hurricane Katrina. She moved back to the New Orleans area where she resided until her death. Mary Lynne was a very devoted to her Catholic faith, and the New Orleans Museum of Art as an volunteer and dossier, where she was awarded Volunteer of the Year. The family was her life and will be sadly missed at all family functions and gatherings, especially during the holiday seasons. A very special thanks to Erin Hogan Grinstead and Robert Grinstead for their tireless time, energy, and devotion to Mary Lynne in the past few years after she was displaced from Hurricane IDA. Mary Lynne was the nicest, thoughtfulness, and talkative person you could ever meet and with a smile to share with others.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Or. La. on Saturday, July 22, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial starting at 1:00 pm. Followed by interment in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
