Mary Lawrence O’Neil, affectionately called Noonie by her family and childhood friends, died at Touro Hospital on Sunday, June 4,2023, after a brief illness. A life-long resident of New Orleans, she graduated from Ecole Classique High School and attended both Tulane University and the University of California at Davis. She worked as a receptionist at the Richard Kohnke law firm and, most recently, as intake specialist for the Orleans Parish Sheriff. Always smiling and kind to others, Mary will be greatly missed by her two older sisters, Peggy O’Neil (Jim Valle) of Emerville,CA; Mary Anne O’Neil (Pat Henry) of Walla Walla, WA; and her eight nieces and nephews living in Texas, California, and Maryland. A service in her honor will take place later this summer in New Orleans.
