Mary Brinker Short, 82, of Metairie passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31,2025. She was born in New Orleans on October 15, 1942, to Mary and Lloyd Brinker. She worked as a typist for Aetna until her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary will be loved and missed by her family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joseph Thomas Short.
Survivors include her daughters, Gina Short (Darryl Richoux) and Colleen Short Songy (Gerald Songy, Jr.); brother, Llyod H. Brinker; and grandchildren, Stacy Songy, Gerald Songy III, Rebecca Richoux, Laura Richoux, Austin Richoux, and Danielle Richoux.
Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Avenue, Metairie, LA 70002. The memorial mass will be at 11 a.m.
