Mary Louise Whitfield

Mary Louise Pike Whitfield passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the age of 93. She carries with her the love of her three sons: Steve, husband of Judy Miller (Baton Rouge), Mark, husband of Cindy Guarino (Destrehan), and Ricky, husband of Ellen Franck (Metairie), as well as her nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard John Whitfield. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Percy John Pike and Malvina Landry Pike.

Louise retired from a career at J.C. Penney after 30 years of service, where she was recognized both locally and nationally for her sales accomplishments. She was an active member of her community as having held the position of President of the Women’s Auxiliary for the VFW, as a volunteer for East Jefferson General Hospital for many years, and as being closely involved with many organizations at St. Charles Borromeo Church.

Louise made an impression on many with her exuberant, infectious personality. She lived, loved, and left a legacy. She will never be forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. to be followed by a funeral mass at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Interment in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses or donations to your favorite charity.
