

Olga Marguerite Lachin Cazenavette, died peacefully on Monday morning, February 6, 2017, at the age of 98. Devoted daughter of the late Adelina Bacigalupi Lachin and John Marion Lachin. Sister of the late John M. Lachin, Jr., Lewis Lachin (Sophie), and Anna Raymond (Gerard). She was the beloved wife of the late Lionel Louis Cazenavette, Jr., to whom she was married for 62 years. She was a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, and a devout Catholic. Olga was born, January 10, 1919 and was a graduate of John McDonogh and Newcomb College Class of 1940. She loved her family and friends, but especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Olga is survived by her five devoted children: Mignonne C. Bankston (John), L. Louis Cazenavette (Cherie), Paul J. Cazenavette (Patricia), Adele C. Veltman (Henry), and Claire C. McCoy (Robert). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Jason Bankston, Valerie C. Glover, Bryan, Joey, Molly and Jacob Cazenavette, Robert, Christopher and Daniel McCoy, Lisa V. Dzuik, Theresa V. Raun, Henry and Jobin Veltman, and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Merle Herbert Lachin and a host of nieces and nephews.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank her doctors, Patricia Jackson, M.D. Stephen LaGuardia, M.D. and Gerald Cohen. We would like to thank the staff at the Azaleas at Woldenberg Village. Special thanks to Sheila, Myrna, Sharon, Barbara and Alecia for their undivided attention to mom during these last few months . Also thanks to the staff at The Carpenter House for their special care of mom, and Amy Himel, M.D.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church on Esplanade Avenue. Visitation after 9am followed by mass at 11 am.
