Owen A. Keefer

Owen A. Keefer, beloved husband, “Sweetheart”, and “Sweet Baboo”, passed away on June 20, 2024 at 78 years of age. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on December 26, 1945. He served in the US Navy and worked as a Geological Draftsman.

Owen was a member of St George's Episcopal Church in New Orleans, and he was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros, New Orleans Saints, and LSU (all sports).

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary H. Keefer and brother, Christopher D. Colson.

Owen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Skipper Keefer; son, Michael Owen Keefer; sister-in-law, Diane Sabiston; and nephew, Douglas D. Sabiston-Colson. He is also survived by his cat, Little Bit.

On the Skipper side of the family, he is survived by nieces, Stacey, Martha, Peggy, Tawny, and Ashley; nephews, Owen and Adam; great-nieces, Meghan, Kiley, and Julianne; great-nephews, Louis, Andrew, Scotty, and John; great-great niece, Makenna; great-great nephew, Luke; and brother-in-law, Bill, and his wife, Pixie. He is preceded in death by his sisters-in law, Jeannie Saling Redmond and Trudy Benson, and great-niece, Christine.

The family would like to give special thanks to Heart of Hospice, especially Mattie, Lorraine, Jennifer, and Caroline.
