A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, July 3, 2023, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal St., New Orleans, LA for Patricia Ann Crutti Pettus, 85, who passed away on June 21, 2023. Father Paul Clark will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. A private burial will take place in Lake Lawn Park upon the conclusion of the Funeral Mass.
Patricia, a resident of New Orleans for most of her life, was the daughter of Joseph E. Crutti and the former Irene Adele Martin. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Jimmie L. Pettus; her daughters, Vicki Lee Vige (Shirley) and Peggy Ann Uhlich (Kenny); her sons, Steven L. Pettus (Yvette), Michael J. Pettus (Suzanne) and Christopher J. Pettus (Shelley); fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Irene Crutti and her sister, Joann Crutti.
Patricia was dedicated to her family. At the young age of 29, she moved her 5 young children to England. This move was necessitated by her husband Jimmie’s employment. She successfully overcame cultural and educational differences for her family and worked tirelessly to help the children adjust to the move. She made sure that the children capitalized on the multiple opportunities and experiences available as a result of living abroad. Upon their return to the United States, she repeated those same efforts to reacclimate the children. Her devotion to her family continued throughout her life. There was nothing she loved more than to be surrounded by her loved ones. She also enjoyed sharing time with friends, reading, and playing cards and games with friends and loved ones.
Patricia attended Warren Easton High School and graduated from Delgado Community College with an associate degree. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Ochsner Clinic as a patient coordinator in the Children’s Psychology Department.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal Street on Monday, July 3, 2023, from 8:30AM to 10:00 AM.
