

On August 14, 2021, Paul C. Boyer, Sr. passed away at the age of 79. He was the devoted husband of Theresa (Terry) Caliva Boyer, for 55 years, father of Paul C. “Chris” Boyer, Jr. and Michele Boyer Jordan (Blake), grandfather of Brian S. Boyer, Joseph “Joey” G. Boyer, Tyler C. Boyer, Pace R. Jordan, Conrad L. Jordan, and great grandfather of Noah A. Boyer. His father, J. Louie Boyer, mother Beatrice Bunol Boyer, sister Besa L. Boyer, and nephew Scott Caliva predeceased him. He is survived by his sister Jeanne Boyer McDougall (Doug). He is also survived by Jim Ann Caliva (Cal, deceased.); Bruce Caliva (Debbie), Don Petitpain (Kit deceased), Kevin H.Caliva, Sr., (Judy), nieces Megan McDougall Diel (James), Rachel McDougall, Cari Caliva Brit (Brendan), Alyse Caliva Manning (Scott), nephews Kevin P. Caliva (Angie), Craig Caliva, Trey Caliva (Stacy), James Caliva (Aya), Bradley Caliva, Brian Caliva (Jessica), Nicholas Caliva, Donald Petitpain, Jason Petitpain (Debbie), David Petitpain (Cammi), Kevin H. Caliva (Hayne), Jeffrey Caliva (Megan), Patrick Caliva (Ginny), & Jack Caliva, along with numerous great-nieces and nephews. Paul will also be missed by his lifelong friends Robert and Pam Prest, along with their children Byron Prest (Donna), Kirk Prest (Denise), Ron Prest (Leslie), Kyle Prest (Dani Leigh), their grandchildren and great grandchildren, Ashley Prest Frisch (Brock), Blake Prest (Meaghan), Jessica Prest, Ryan Prest, Kohl Prest, Luke Prest, Blaze Frisch, Kade Frisch, and Tripp Frisch, who all adopted Paul and Terry as their honorary grandparents.
Upon graduation from De La Salle High School in New Orleans, he attended Southeastern Louisiana University for a short period of time before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. After completing active duty, Paul returned to SLU, where he obtained a B. S. degree in Business Administration in 1966. After graduation, Paul worked at the Bank of New Orleans for 12 years. In 1978 he began his career as a Petroleum Landman, being mentored by Ken Savage. He worked for Ken Savage & Associates until the time of Ken’s death in 2007. Paul then formed, along with fellow landman Mark Wainwright, Wainwright & Boyer Land Services, LLC, where he worked up until the time of his death.
Paul was an avid conservationist. Along with LSU football and baseball, Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Lake Lawn-Metairie Funeral Home. Visitation from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM with the Mass to follow. Dress casual as Paul was not a fan of suits & ties. Mask are required because of COVID.
