Peggy Mayhall Campbell

Peggy Mayhall Campbell passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2014. Peggy moved to New Orleans from Houston, TX in 1952 with her beloved husband, Thomas Wayne Campbell. She is survived by her sons, Gregory Wayne Campbell, Gary Thomas Campbell (Deborah), and Bradley Neil Campbell (Jill), and one daughter, Pamela Campbell Melson (Christian). Peggy is also survived by her only sister, Dianne Mayhall McDaniel; five grandsons, Thomas Gregory Campbell, Charles Callen Mary IV, Campbell Wayne Mary, Madison Alexander Mary, Taggart Wayne Campbell; five granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Lucas, Katherine Melson Kramer, Natalie Melson Carreras, Camille Elise Campbell, and Jenna Kay Campbell; and eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wayne Campbell; parents, Nolan and Agnes Mayhall; and daughter, Peggy Kay Mary. Peggy especially loved cooking and entertaining for family and friends. She was a very talented quilter, seamstress, and gardener. She was a devout Christian, and a member of the Church of Christ. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. The family especially would like to recognize Heart of Hospice for their excellent and devoted care of their mother. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM.
