

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Estre, and two children, Kira Culotta Hess (Ben Daly) and Kirk Culotta (Elizabeth Culotta). He has five grandchildren: Ethan Hess, Elliot Hess, Harrison Culotta, Henry Pete Culotta and Grace Culotta. He is also survived by sisters Fran Knoop (Bill Knoop) and Lucille Cassano(Artie Cassano) and his sisters-in-law Tania Griener and Sharon F. de Castro. In addition, Pete has numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Mary Culotta; and sisters, Beatrice Sluter and Marie Fasullo; and brothers-in-law, Joe Fasullo, Frank Sluter, and Robert F. de Castro.
Pete grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and attended Centenary College. He then attended LSU Medical School and graduated in 1963. Charity Hospital is where he did his internship and where he met Estre.
Pete served in the Army as a Captain in Korea for one year after his internship. He was then stationed in Germany for three years and was honorably discharged as a Major.
Pete then returned to Charity Hospital to complete a residency in Radiology and practiced for the majority of his career at hospitals on the Westbank of New Orleans.
He lived for his family, eating out and traveling in the mountains.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at St. Ann Church and Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Drive in Metairie. Visitation is scheduled for 11:00am followed by a Mass at 12:00pm. Inurnment will be at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
