Peter Joseph Tortorich passed away at the age of 85 on May 4, 2025, at his residence with his family by his side. Peter was born in New Orleans, La. on December 19, 1939. Devoted husband of 36 years to Evelyn “Oonebibble” Tortorich. Son of the late Anthony Joseph Tortorich and Muriel Louise Tortorich. Father of the late Peter Joseph Tortorich III and Teena Woodall. Grandfather of Casey Sclafini, Anthony Tortorich, Tia Winther and the late Shawn Woodall. Great grandfather of Ethan Durel and Adalynn Winther. Brother of Toni Biro and the late Charles “Chuck” Tortorich. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was neurotic, precise, intelligent, loving and secretive. He was PITA, but loved.
A Celebration of Peter’s Life was held on Friday, May 9, 2025, with a private burial to take place on Monday, May 12 in Metairie Cemetery.
