Philip A. Blappert passed away on April 28, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born in New Orleans on July 4, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School in New Orleans and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. While at LSU, he joined their band and was in the Acacia Fraternity. After college, he became an entrepreneur and started his own polygraphy business. In his free time, he enjoyed cruising in the Caribbean and spending time in Saint Croix with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lyndel Bird Blappert; sons, Troy Blappert and Dr. Bradley Blappert; grandchildren, Christopher, Isabella, Alexander, Abigail, and Harrison Blappert.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Blappert Sr. and Claire Blappert; as well as his sister, Marilyn Reso.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering in the event center of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 PM. Philip will be laid to rest in Lake Lawn Park immediately afterwards.
