Richard "Richie" Blackman

Richard “Richie” Blackman passed away at his home in Slidell, on Saturday, January 26, 2019. He was 74 years of age. He was the beloved husband for 54 years of Joan Torres Blackman; loving father of Michelle Bordelon (Ken) and Ricky Blackman (Terri); grandfather of Kayla Reinmiller, Ricky Blackman, Courtney Bordelon, Cole Blackman, and Garret Bordelon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Norma Birdsall Blackman, and his sisters, Joyce Bearden and Carol Taranto.

Richie worked at Mechanical Construction Company for 50 years, and was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Place in Slidell, on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at noon. A visitation will be held at the Church beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
