Robert Charles Sanderson

Robert (Bob) was a native New Orleanian who transplanted to Tennessee 18 years ago. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked in the marketing department of New Orleans Public Service and then Entergy for over 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed dancing, crossword puzzles, bridge, sailing, fishing, and cooking/eating.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion DeJean Sanderson; brothers, George Alfred Sanderson, Jr., and Donald Arthur Sanderson; sister, Carol May Sanderson; father, George Alfred Sanderson, Sr.; and mother, May Aloise Sanderson.

Robert is survived by his children, Robert Charles Sanderson, Jr., Richard Gregory Sanderson, Catherine Sanderson Murphy, and Amy Sanderson Carlos; grandchildren, Sean Patrick Murphy, Ian Scott Murphy, Caitlin Murphy Gallet, Meghan Alexandra Carlos, Noah Alexander Carlos, Alec Robert Sanderson, and Aaron Michael Sanderson; and great-grandchildren, Lily Rose Gallet, and Hugo Shaan Murphy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass officiated by Rev. Pat Collum in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10 AM. Visitation will begin at 9 AM. After Mass, Bob will be laid to rest beside his wife in Metairie Cemetery.
