

Rosalie (Roli) Rau Deeves, born on August 3, 1936 in New Orleans, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on August 28, 2018. She was the daughter of the late John Eblen Rau and Henrietta Scholars Rau. She was preceded in death by Caroline Rau Jordy, Gretchen Rau, Forrest Rau, and her daughter, Margaret Deeves Regan. She is survived by William H. Deeves, Erin Deeves Bernard (Jeff),
J. Kevin Deeves (Nisa), W. Timothy Deeves, Gretchen M. Deeves, Elizabeth Bernard, John Bernard,
D. Andrew Regan, and Jewel Deeves.
Roli graduated from Louise S. McGehee School and after raising her family, completed a Bachelor’s degree in Education from U.N.O. In her younger years, she enjoyed entertaining her friends and their families, cooking, and spending summers and holidays with her family in Pass Christian, MS. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading, traveling, and playing bridge with friends. The family would like to sincerely thank Connie, CC, Dinah, & Charlene for their compassionate care during this past year.
Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Friday, September 7 at 12pm, followed by a Mass at 1pm and burial in Metairie Cemetery.
