Roy G. Petrie

Roy G. Petrie passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018. Son of the late Sam and Ione Petrie. Beloved husband of Elizabeth and father of Pamela Petrie and Paula Hebert (Edwin). He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Helen Hartmann (Emile), nieces Jennifer Knight (Jeff) and Melissa Hebert (Ryan), great nieces and nephews Rebecca and Scott Stephens, Austin and Brooke Knight and Brandon and Emily Hebert, Mary Fenton and Michael and Ernest Giusti, Jr., half sister Juanita Whiddon (John) and their sons Kenneth and George. Roy was a friend to many and loved by all. A long time member of the Knights of Babylon has started his final ride. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Ormond Nursing and Care Facility and St. Catherine's Hospice for the loving way they cared for Roy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1pm. Visitation is from 10am until service time followed by interment at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
