Spiron Nicholas “Nick” Bouzon passed away on April 7, 2021 at his home at the age of 93 years. Mr. Bouzon was born in New Orleans on March 4, 1928 to Nicholas Spiron Bouzon and Athanasia (Soula) Kogos Bouzon, both Greek immigrants from the surrounding area of Tripoli, Arcadia, Greece. He was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School and Louisiana State University, where he majored in Geology. Mr. Bouzon also served in the United States Army Air Corps.
Professionally, Mr. Bouzon was active in the oil and gas industry for many years and worked for several companies, including Baroid, Ana-Lab, and Delta Well Logging. He was also a member of the New Orleans Geological Society and the Petroleum Club of New Orleans.
Spiron was a lifelong parishioner of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, where he served a number of terms as a member of the cathedral’s board of trustees. Holding the positions of treasurer and 1st vice president, he was instrumental in the organization and success of many of the early Greek Festivals in New Orleans and chaired several of them. He was also a member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA).
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bouzon was predeceased by his brother, Dimitri N. Bouzon. Spiron is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Sandra “Sandy” McGill Bouzon; his three children, Nicholas Spiron Bouzon, Stephen Spiron Bouzon, Helene Bouzon McIntosh (Graham); and his three grandchildren, Quinn Helene, Walter Spiron, and Charles Edward.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy officiated by Fr. George Wilson, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1200 Robert E Lee Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana, on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11 AM. A visitation will begin at 10 AM. Graveside services will follow the Liturgy at Lake Lawn Park.
