Theodore “Ted” A. Kraft, Jr. passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the age of 87. He was born in New Orleans on February 22, 1930. Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years Doris Lopez Kraft; Children Ken; Angele (Michael); Michael (Deborah) and Benjamin. Grandchildren Shane (Cara), Lauren, Brandon, and Chelsea (Travis); four great-grandchildren; brother Royal Kraft, Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents Theodore A. Kraft, Sr. and Albertine Stock Kraft; sister Beverly Kraft.
Ted is a graduate of Holy Cross High School (1946) and Southeastern University (1951). He served in the United States Army in the Army medics during the Korean War attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class.
Ted was a unique and caring man, a friend to many, and touched the lives of all who knew him. Full of charm and stories, he always had something interesting to say. Ted was an avid photographer and was always the one taking photos at any given time. He also published a book “Dear Shelby” which told of his trials and tribulations during his Army days. Ted was a Real Estate broker, one of the first real estate developers in Metairie, and the founder of Angele Apartments Company.
Ted was a charter member of the Apartment Association of Greater New Orleans, Past President of the YMBC Toastmasters of New Orleans (1965), member of the Knights of Columbus, and served as an usher at St. Francis Xavier Church.
