

It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Thomas (Tom) Earl Gleason, Jr., at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Anna Totora Gleason and son of the late Thomas Earl Gleason, Sr and Antoinette Faber Gleason. Proud Father of Timothy Gleason (Jenell) and the late Bret Gleason, Sr (Cindy).
Tom passed peacefully after a long courageous cancer battle on Good Friday, April 18, with his family at his side.
He proudly served as active duty in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve. He was a New Orleans native and attended Sacred Heart High School and University of New Orleans.
Those who knew Tom will remember him for his sense of humor, witty jokes and most of all his loving heart. He was very proud of his five grandchildren Tayler Gleason, Jennifer Gleason Olson (David), Bret Gleason (Kirsten), Kaitlyn and Kyle Gleason along with his four great grandchildren Donovan, Ella and Joshua Olson and little Evelyn Gleason. He is also survived by his two sisters Rose Gleason Guarino and Fay Gleason Boudreaux (Ronnie) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his four sisters Bernadette Gleason Gary, Antoinette Gleason Le Bourgeois, Gay Gleason Gary and Sylvia Gleason Lynn. He was the only son in their family of seven children.
Tom retired from Marathon Petroleum as an Instrument Technician. He was also an avid member of St. Ann Men’s Club and the Knights of Columbus.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Jonathan Mizrahi as well as his two assistants, Randi and Nakia, for their amazing support and care. Special thanks also to Guardian Angels Hospice, especially, Catherine Daigre who became family to us during this difficult time. Also and most importantly to Martha and Gary Solomon who were there for us from the beginning of our journey.
Friends and Family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Ann Church and National Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, La 70006 on Monday, April 28, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM til 12:00 noon with a Catholic Funeral Mass to follow officiated by Msgr. Bob Massett.
Interment will be private.
Contributions can be made to the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center, Jefferson, La.
Reception to follow at St. Ann Church and National Shrine, Pope John Paul Room.
