Thomas F. Riley, age 86, passed away on April 27, 2018. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 20, 1931 to the late Charles J. Riley and Isabelle Winters Riley; he is also preceded in death by his beloved son, Thomas F. Riley, Jr. and his sister, Marybelle Riley Keane.
Thomas is survived by his devoted wife, Sylvia Christina Riley; loving daughter, Kathleen Riley Devlin (Raymond Devlin, III); his cherished granddaughters, Erin and Emily Devlin; brother, Charles J. Riley, Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
Thomas was a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science and established his career as an industrial engineer. He was particularly proud of his time working on the NASA project that put the first man on the moon. Thomas was a devout Catholic, a parishioner of St. Philip Neri and a 30 year member of the St. Philip Neri Choir. Also, St. Philip Neri Men’s Club, American Institute of Industrial Engineers and The Barbershop Chorus of New Orleans.
Tom loved his family and he enjoyed the company of his many good friends. He was known for his great sense of humor and storytelling. Tom mentioned on many occasions what a wonderful life he had.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, Louisiana on Friday, May 04, 2018. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until Mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
