Vincent was born on October 4, 1953 to Vincent Paul McCormack Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Bowles and was the only child. He grew up in Gentilly, went to Kennedy High School, and enjoyed fishing and hunting while growing up in sportsman’s paradise. After graduation, he spent four years in the United States Marine Corps at Twentynine Palms, California and Lualualei, Hawaii. He was honorably discharged as an Sergeant (E-5) in 1978. While in Hawaii, he met Anne Marie Sheehan and they married in 1978. They moved to Kenner and had three children. Vincent enjoyed his career as a drafter and a senior pipe designer.
