Dorothy A. White

On Sunday, May 8th 2022, Dorothy, of New Port Richey, FL peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She had celebrated her 99th birthday just two weeks earlier. Dorothy was born in Carlisle, IN on April 24th 1923 to Homer Owen and Anna LaDora (Lamar) Coleman. She spent most of her life in southern Indiana until moving to Ypsilanti, MI her junior year of high school. She graduated from Ypsilanti high school in 1942 and married Donald Weatherman on November 14th the same year. Their only child, Janey was born on December 26th 1946. For 25 years Dorothy worked in the accounting department of Mellencamp's (a men's clothing store) in Ypsilanti. In 1984, she and Don moved to New Port Richey and soon joined First Baptist Church of Elfers and remained members until their deaths. She was very involved with her church and enjoyed many trips with the senior group Happy Hearts over the years and loved being with friends there.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Brother Charles (Hazel) Coleman, husbands Don Weatherman and Joe White, nephews Seth Coleman, James Ashby and Terry Smith. She is survived by her daughter Janey Foltz, grandchildren Nicole Williams and Scott (Lynda) Williams, great-grandchildren Hailey (Jeremy) Larose, Chelsea (Tyler) Elkins, Cameron Janssen and Tyler Jane Williams, great-great-grandchildren Benjamin and Jasper Larose, Grayson Lundell and a new great-great Elkins baby girl expected in the Fall, niece Myra Strubank, Nephews Owen Coleman, Larry, and Tom Smith. Dorothy was a devoted Christian and a very loving wife, mother, Grandma, Nana, Aunt and Cousin and friend who adored her family and they adored her. A visitation for Dorothy will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Elfers, 4050 Redleaf Dr, New Port Richey, FL 34652. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Elfers by Pastor Jim Prose at 4050 Redleaf Dr, New Port Richey, FL 34652. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652.
