Gilbert Carballo, 92, peacefully passed away on September, 15st, 2010 at his residence . He was born on May/24/1918 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He moved to the New Port Richey area in 1980, coming from New York.
He fought in the Army during WWII and was awarded several medals for his services .
He was a life-time member of the V F W , and was very active at his Church. He was Catholic by faith, and member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores ; son, Angel , sister, Sarah Collado, 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew and met him.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, September, 19th from 5-8pm at North Meadowlawn Funeral Home, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, 727-849-9281.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September, 20th at 10:30am at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 8320 S.R. 54, New Port Richey, 727-372-8600
