It was an honor to have met Mr. Telman during a visit to Atlanta many years ago.  He was truly a distinguished man who owned his presence. His legend lives on and I witness it each day through Bert, Jr and Nicole and even little Mya.  My deepest condolences to the family during this time of sadness.

My Godfather, Uncle Hilbert (aka Uncle Sleepy), has always been supportive of me and, even though we did not see each other often, we stayed in touch by email and telephone.  His words “you've got to have a plan” will always remain with me and this mantra has been passed onto my children Aisha and Akeem.  Rest in peace Uncle Hilbert, your work here is done but you will live on in our hearts forever.

Mr. Telman was such a sweet and loving spirit. I know he is watching over us and expecting the the best from those who carry his legacy of peace and love.

My dad was a man of peace. He stressed the importance of family unity, developing and improving yourself through education and always having a plan before you did anything in life. He was an eloquent and humble man who touched so many lives in so many ways. It is said that the measure of a man is viewed through the life he led. Dad led a life of love and dedication to Christ, his family,friends and strangers alike. I shall miss his wisdom, his laugh and his assurance after each of our conversations that I was loved by him. As he would always say in times of death "it's not goodbye it's goodnight" Goodnight dear dad you will live in my heart and spirit for as long as I am on this earth till we meet again in the afterlife...your loving son
