D'Ascoli, John Sr., 87 of Trinity, FL passed on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. John was born to the late Sabato D'Ascoli and Carmela (DiFilippo) D'Ascoli in Siano Salerno, Italy in 1926 and became a U.S. citizen in 1933. He grew up in Bronx, NY until permanently relocating to Florida in 1980.
For over a decade, John was the proud owner of racehorses, racing in major venues all over the state of New York. In addition to racing he enjoyed golfing, boating and was an avid hunter. For most of his young adult life John hunted deer, bear, and boar in the Adirondacks of New York.
After retiring at the age of 42 from his own business, Thruway Private Taxi Service, John enjoyed cruising and travelling the world with his wife.
John is survived by his daughter, Camille (Paul) Wittke; his 2 sons, John D' Ascoli Jr. and Frank (Kathleen) D'Ascoli and 4 beloved grandchildren; Melanie and Kacie Wittke, John D'Ascoli and Amanda D'Ascoli. John also leaves behind his longtime girlfriend, Lyn Burger.
John will be missed by family and friends as he rejoins his late wife, Joan.
