

Kathryn M. 'Kay' Hayes Stevens, 94, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on the afternoon of June 16, 2013. Kathryn was born in Aurora, Missouri on March 10,1919 to Ethel and Leo Hayes. After graduating from high school in Springfield, Missouri, she enrolled in the Golden Rule Business School and prepared for a career with the Civil Service in Washington, DC. Kathryn worked at the Pentagon and other offices, specifically in the Supply Division Army Medical Department until she retired, after thirty years, in 1973.
Kathryn was married to Edward L. 'Eddie' Stevens on October 21, 1967; they were married for twenty-six years. Kathryn and Eddie retired from the Washington, DC area to Port Richey, Florida. They built their home in Jasmine Lakes and lived there for thirteen years. In 1992, the couple moved a few miles south to Regency Residences and she remained there until her death. Eddie passed away in 1993 at the age of 73.
Kathryn is survived by many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, and great-nephews throughout Missouri, South Carolina, and North Carolina; as well as other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters and six brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Family Organization. The family of Kathryn M. Stevens wishes to thank Regency Residences and Bayshore Home Care for their compassionate and helpful staffs. A graveside service will held at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 10 o'clock in the morning. There will be no visitation
