Barbara Ann Compton

Barbara Ann Compton, 80, of Newburgh, IN passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born September 13, 1937 to the late George Henry Lee and Ruby Harrison Lee. Barbara graduated from Reitz High School in 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ellen Stevens of Crawfordville, IN, Julianne Marbern of Evansville, IN; and brother, Donald Liford of Indianapolis, IN. Barbara is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gerald, of Newburgh; sons, Russell (Melissa) of Evansville, IN; Paul (Dawn) of Jacksonville, FL, Steven of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Tiffany Turner (Joe), Anna Compton; great-grandchildren, Kyndal Huffman, Justus Turner; sister, Deborah Bannister of Charleston, SC; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. A Memorial Service will be held 3:30 PM, Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by The Reverend Holly Rankin Zaher. Friends may visit 1:00 PM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
