

He was a 1974 graduate of North Daviess High School. He served 22 years in the US Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, and had worked as a mold setter for SRG. He was a member of VFW Post #1157 and American Legion Post #73 in Vincennes. He enjoyed woodworking and was an all-around handy man. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and always helped anyone he could.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan Lynn (Wilson) Poindexter; son, Troy Alan Poindexter; grandchildren, Kegley Ann Robben, Trey Glen Poindexter, and Talyn Robert Ericksen; great-granddaughter, Macy Rae Robben; two beloved shelties, Chloe and Bambi; and several cousins.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 9, 2015, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Dusty Russell, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Vincennes. Friends may visit Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ward Neff, Dr. Christopher Braden, Dr. Noah Taylor, the staff of MSA Hospice, and a special thank you to Marty and Schmia, for all the loving care and support that was given.
