Don was the loving husband of Tamrin, and together they created a beautiful life, marrying on May 13, 2019. Their joy was further blessed by the arrival of their son, Isaiah, who brought immeasurable happiness to their lives. He was a proud father not only to Isaiah, but also to his two beloved bonus daughters, Amanda and Alyssa Norman.
Don was raised in Boonville and graduated Boonville High School in 1975, before beginning his career at Alcoa. Throughout his 44 years at Alcoa, he held multiple positions, starting in the Pot Room, to spending many years on the Coating Line. When he retired on January 1, 2021, he worked as a Finishing Trucker in the Pack and Ship Department.
Don was truly one of the best men you could ever meet. He was a devoted husband, father, friend, neighbor, and pillar of support to those around him. Throughout his life, he had the privilege of being surrounded by many caring and supportive individuals, and he was deeply grateful for the strong relationships he formed along the way.
A true lover of nature, Don found joy in all things outdoors. He cherished time spent shooting firearms, taking his son fishing, off-roading on rugged trails, and kayaking in serene waters. Whether adventuring with his family on a vacation or simply enjoying a quiet movie night at home, Don’s greatest joy was spending quality time with his wife and their 3 children.
One of his greatest pleasures was spending time on his John Deere tractor, it was more than just a piece of machinery—it was his favorite companion for outdoor tasks, and he always found new reasons to put it to work-whether tending to his land, maintaining the property, or simply enjoying the satisfaction of a task well done. It wasn’t just a tool to him; it was a connection to the land he loved and a symbol of his hard work and self-sufficiency.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff on the 6th floor at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, as well as to Heart to Heart Hospice Care, for their compassion and care during Don’s final days.
A private memorial service to celebrate the life of Don will be held at a later date. For further information and details, feel free to contact his wife.
