IN THE CARE OF
Alexander Funeral Home-Newburgh Chapel
Hollace “Holly” Newnum passed away on April 6, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on January 25, 1956 in Evansville to Jerry Floyd and Willow Jean Newnum as the youngest of four children (siblings, Jeri Lynn Christoph, Dehna Beswick, and Arnold Newnum) and was raised in Newburgh where he lived his entire life. He worked as an Ironworker for 30 years as part of Ironworkers Local 103.
What truly set Holly apart, was his originality. He was a character in the truest sense. His unique ways of speech added color and vibrancy to every conversation. The man was a walking, talking encyclopedia of hilarious one-liners and unforgettable phrases that could make a sailor blush and priest chuckle. He was loyal, loving, kind, and hilarious.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Jane (Wilhite) Newnum; step-children, Mandy Ligon and Clint Majors; grandchildren, Lily Ligon, Isaac Majors, Chloe Majors, and Ethan Majors; and extended family and a multitude of friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
A celebration of Holly’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
