James "Jim" L. Threet

James "Jim" L. Threet, 89, of Newburgh, IN, had a peaceful passing on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. He was born in Sheridan, AR on September 27, 1928 to the late James and Minnie Threet.

He retired in 1971 after serving in the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Master Sargent, then worked as a Claims Service Manager for Hartford Insurance and retired in 1997. Jim was a 50-year member of Newburgh Masonic Lodge, charter member of Living Word Christian Church, past Patron of Eastern Star Friendship Chapter 32, past Chaplain of IFR Association, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Jim was preceded in death by sons, Ronald and Gary Threet.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary; son, Roy Threet (Nancy) of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Sharon Capell of Little Rock, AR; Carol A. Hinton (Scott) of Newburgh, IN; step-daughter, Kelly Rohrer (Kevin) of Chana, IL; grandchildren, Bekah, Rachel, Tara, Karl, Shannon, Ashley, Amanda, Blake, Johnny, Kory, Zachary, Michael; and great-grandchildren, Will, Amberlyn, Benjamin, Jaxson, Paisley.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Mike Claypool with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Military Honors will be performed at the cemetery by American Legion Kapperman Post 44. Friends may visit 3-7 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
