Janice Lee Gash, 91, of Newburgh, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born December 19, 1924, in Evansville, to the late Howard J. and Cora (Blankenship) Barnes.
She was a Central High School graduate and was of the Christian Science faith. She formerly worked in insurance sales and retired as a homemaker.
Janice was preceded in death by her sons, Stanton and Patrick Gash; sister, Dorothy Barnes; brothers, Vernon, Lawrence, and Charles Barnes; and companion, Harold Wingo.
She is survived by her son, Vernon (Jan) Gash; grandsons, Justin (Andrea) and Ryan Gash; great-grandson, Christian Matthew Gash; daughter-in-law, Linda Gash; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, conducted by Celebrant Carrie Hatchett, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville.
