Jean Florence Lutterman

Jean Florence Lutterman, 97, of Evansville, IN passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019. She was born December 1, 1921 in Mount Greenwood, IL to the late Elijah Burl and Mabel Helen (Berg) Hurt. She retired in 1984 after 38 years of teaching in the EVSC. She had a passion for teaching and appreciated hearing from former students and faculty members. Jean enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Harold. She was an avid reader, loved to decorate, and enjoyed attending her granddaughter’s and great-grandchildren’s many activities. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harold John Lutterman; granddaughter, Krista Lutterman Hurt; brother, Edward Hurt; and sister, Ruth Strueh. She is survived by son, Randy Lutterman (Ginger); granddaughter, Katie Taylor (Brandon); grandson-in-law, Doug Hurt; and great-grandchildren, Kendall Taylor, Kyleigh Taylor, Gretchen Hurt and Bo Hurt. A Funeral Service will be held 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Craig Duke. Friends may visit 3:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Private entombment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Krista Lutterman Hurt Scholarship Fund to benefit Castle High School students. Contributions will be accepted at any Old National Bank branch.
