Jeanne McCutchan

She attended Washington Grade School and Bosse High School before earning degrees from Texas Christian University and Indiana University. Jeanne taught at Cynthia Heights, Stanley Hall, and Fairlawn schools. She had a deep love for teaching and especially cherished the moment when she could see the spark in a student’s eyes as they finally “got it.”

Jeanne was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church until its closing, after which she attended Morningside Presbyterian Church. She was involved in Tres Dias and faithfully shared Bible studies at local nursing homes. Jeanne loved traveling with family and friends and also participated in several mission trips.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim McCutchan; sister-in-law, Nancy McCutchan; family friend, Dorothy Edwards, and great niece, Megan Haywood.

She is survived by her niece, Tammy Haywood; nephew, Tim McCutchan (Holly); great nephews, Chris Haywood (Samatha) and Drew McCutchan (Miriah); great niece, Savannah McCutchan; 2 great-great nieces, and one great-great nephew, and caregivers, Megan Leavitt and Eva Schmitz.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Morningside Presbyterian Church, 8419 Newburgh Rd., Evansville, IN, officiated by Brother James Messer. Family and friends may visit Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
