Obituary of Johnny Coats
Johnny Coats, 42, of Newburgh, a cherished husband, father, son, and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 3, 2024 due to complications from a heart condition. He was born November 24, 1981 in Brooklyn, NY to Florencia (Dishmey) Santos and the late Daniel Coats. Johnny's infectious smile brought joy into the lives of all who crossed his path. His legacy is one of love, compassion, and unwavering faith. You didn't have to talk with him long to know that he was filled with the Holy Spirit. Throughout his life, Johnny was dedicated to serving others. His employment with the Bible Center Cathedral and Crossroads Christian Church was not just a job but a reflection of his commitment to ministering to those around him. Whether through his ministry work or his everyday interactions, Johnny's kindness and generosity knew no bounds. Johnny had a passion for music and was a very talented bass guitarist. He learned to love to travel with his family including taking his kids on their first cruise and Disney World. As much as he wanted people to know Jesus, he equally wanted them to know that he was Dominican and also from Brooklyn, NY. Johnny began ministry very early in life and continued the pursuit of Christ and ministry by attending Masters Commission in Evansville, IN. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through both triumphs and trials. He lived each day with purpose, spreading genuine love and the message of hope to all who would listen. Johnny leaves behind a legacy of love and a lifetime of cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rachel Coats, their children, Avery, Isaiah, Juliana, and Naomi Coats, his mother, Florencia Santos, siblings, Daniel Coats, Raisa (Coats) Perez and Miriam Cuevas; his in-laws, Craig and Sally Beckley, his brother-in-law, Jesse (Tiffany) Beckley, his sister-in-law, Erin (Kevin) Fuell; special friends, Jennifer and Reeser Williams; as well as numerous other friends and family members. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Daniel, and his brother, Carlos Coats. While we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that Johnny is now reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Crossroads Christian Church, located at 10800 Lincoln Avenue in Newburgh. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to the family to assist with educational expenses for Johnny's beloved children, Avery, Isaiah, Juliana, and Naomi Coats. Your generous contributions will honor Johnny's legacy of love and devotion to his family, ensuring that his children have the support they need to pursue their dreams and aspirations. https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/JohnnysMemorialFund?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderNewburghChapel.com.
