Melvin Lee Dotson

Melvin Lee Dotson, 78, of Newburgh, IN passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his home with his wife and children by his side. He was born in Crossville, TN on May 1, 1940 to Joe Wheeler and Bertha Marie (Colebaugh) Dotson. Melvin was self-employed as a truck driver. He lived every minute to its fullest, whether he was working or playing; and, everyone he met was a friend. His world revolved around his family. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dixie A. Dotson; sons, Sonny (Angie), Scott (Holly) Dotson, both of Boonville, IN; daughter, Diana Morris (Brian) of Tennyson, IN; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Dotson; many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Alexander Newburgh chapel, officiated by Pastor Mike Claypool with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 1-5 pm at Alexander Newburgh Chapel; and, on Monday, June, 18 from 9:00 am until service time.
