

Michael “Mike” L. Duncan, 69, of Newburgh, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born January 17, 1946, in Browns, Edwards County, IL, to the late James Melvin and Elizabeth Bernice (Corwin) Duncan.
He graduated from Edwards County High School in Albion, IL, in 1964, and served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967, during which time he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal – Marksman Badge (1st Award, Rifle). He retired from Alcoa in 2007 after 36 years of service. He was an avid golfer, winning numerous local tournaments over the years, and in 1999 he earned his Teaching Professional Certification from the United States Golf Teachers Federation.
Mike is survived by his wife of 39 years, Angela Sue Duncan; daughter, Kimberly Cooper of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Cody Cooper of Atlanta, GA; sister, Lynn Duncan Garrison of Scottsdale, AZ; brother, Jim Duncan of Browns, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 PM Monday, May 25, 2015, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Brett Nicholson, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
