Ruth Baughn

Ruth Baughn, 71, of Newburgh, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Deaconess Gateway. She was born August 3, 1940, in Newburgh, IN. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and retired from St. John’s after 20+ years of service. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. She also enjoyed working on arts and crafts and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruth Schmidt; son, Kevin Baughn; and sister, Doris Carrell. She is survived by her husband, Sidney “Larry” Baughn; daughter, Kelly Bowen (Terry); son, Keith Baughn (Christina); daughter-in-law, Karyn Howe; brother, Gene Schmidt; sisters, Jolene Patterson and Jeanette Williams; grandchildren, Terry Winters, Nick Winters, Samantha Howe, Bayleigh Howe, Kaylan Baughn, Kylie Baughn, Cascie Matthews and Travis Bowen; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 1, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, officiated by Rev. Joseph Ziliak, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, and Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
