Thomas Joseph Barnett

Thomas "Tom" Joseph Barnett, 76, of Newburgh, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. He was born August 9, 1947 in Evansville to the late Victor and Elizabeth (Wittgen) Barnett.
He was a graduate of Rex Mundi High School in 1965, University of Evansville in 1969 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and St. Louis University in 1985 with a degree in Health Care Administration. Tom was employed with Whirlpool, Firestone, St. Mary’s Medical Center and retired from Deaconess Hospital after 25 years of service. He was a devoted member of St. John's Catholic Church since 1971 and a lifetime member of the NRA and Red Brush. Tom enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs ball games.
He is survived by his loving family, wife of 54 years, Suzanne (Kuester) Barnett; children, Jennifer Tullis (Peter), Dana Moore (Roger) and John Barnett (Jennifer); grandchildren, Patrick Tullis (Rubi), Samuel Tullis, Anna Marie and Audrey Moore, Tyler Tuley (Katelyn), Claire, Madelyn and Nicholas Barnett; and great grandchildren, Henry, Franklin and Walter Tuley and Everly Tullis-Garcia; brother, Robert Barnett (Nancy); and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother and father in-law, Ervin “Bud” and Jeanne Kuester; brother, Victor A. Barnett, and great grandson, Liam Edward Tullis-Garcia.
Visitation will be 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2024 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261 and Tuesday, April 2, 2024, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at the church, officiated by Rev. Claude Burns, with entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Evansville, IN.
