

At age nine he moved with his family to St. Louis, MO where he graduated from Hadley Vocational School and was then employed by American District Telegraph (ADT). From 1943 to 1946, during World War II he was given a leave of absence from ADT to serve in the USMC in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was SSgt with the 1st Marine Division which launched the assault on Peleliu Island. After the war he married Ann Jeanette Connelly on April 19, 1946. They moved to Evansville, IN where he became district manager of ADT, retiring in 1983. He was an active Scout Master of the Boy Scouts of America in Newburgh, IN and loved the outdoors. Tom was a very caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and he will be dearly missed.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helen Jamroz and Nancy Heilman.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, daughters Sheila Ann Rayburn (Charles)
of Des Moines, IA; Karen Leigh Thomas (Terry) of Lexington, KY.; Anne Patricia Dale
(Robert) and son Thomas Shawn Neeley (Camille) of Newburgh, IN.; ten grandchildren,
Jeffrey (Jackie), Douglas, and Michael (Margarita) Rayburn; Trent Thomas (Heather)
and Neeley Buhr (Jeffrey); Shannon Smith (Richard), Austin and Megan Dale; Brianne
and Elizabeth Neeley; and eight great-grandchildren, Sydney, Tyler, Addison, Jasmyn,
and Sophia Rayburn; Mason, Lily and Ava Thomas.
Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 6, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, officiated by Father Attila Frohlich with burial and full military honors held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Newburgh, IN. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel and on Monday from 9:00 AM until Mass time at the church.
