I just discovered the obituary for Bart, I am sad to her of his passing. Bart hired me to work with him at Cub Foods Downers Grove location as a Loss Prevention agent. He was so determined to become a cop, and I am delighted that he realized his goal. Prayers and heartfelt thoughts to the family at home, and to the CPD friends and colleagues he leaves behind.

he was a good person. He was a light in my darkness; picked me up when I couldn't do it myself. "Look down on your family and friends; wrap your spirit around their  aching hearts.

My brother Richard gave me this sad news. I am so very sorry, Susan. May you be comforted.

My sympathies to the Sleeper family. I remember Barton as part of the huge pack of kids playing on Mayfield Ave in the 1970's. The photo gallery really brought me back in time. He was a great kid then, and I'm sure he grew into a fine man.

Bart or Barton as we called him, seemed part of our family growing up.  I will always remember him and my brother John or Johnny as he was known then, being the best of friends.  Barton was a great kid and I'm sure he matured into a wonderful man.  My deepest sympathies to all of the Sleeper family.
